Circus artists live in the cities and in the countryside, groups and directors work and produce here, there are rehearsal rooms and residencies, training facilities, venues, festivals, and an ever-growing, curious and open-minded audience. To make all this more visible, the Association of Contemporary Circus in Baden-Württemberg (LAZZ-BW) is in process of being founded. We invite you to meet us, to get to know each other and to exchange ideas over a glass of champagne.

    • SUSTAINABILITY AT FESTIVALS - FUTURE-PROOF WITHOUT GREENWASHING by Markus Wörl
    • Workshop mit Markus Wörl
    • An event, a festival is by definition not sustainable. It lives from the uniqueness of the experience, from as many people as possible who want to enjoy this event live and from the unique atmosphere that rounds off such a festival or performance.

Planning this event, whether theatre, concert or congress, in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way and implementing it consistently brings with it many challenges. Today's indispensable demand for sustainability calls for particularly well-considered planning and realization. This workshop is designed to provide a compact and clear overview of the most important fields of action and necessary measures for the sustainable and climate-friendly optimization of your events.

Do you know all the ecological, economic and social aspects? Do you know not only the ecological footprint but also the ecological handprint? Are you sure about the right choice of service providers and suppliers?

When it comes to green mobility, do you not only think of the travelling of the guest ensembles but also of the travelling behaviour of the audience, which is usually much more emission-intensive? Analysing and changing this behaviour is a challenging but rewarding task.

Not only will you raise your profile, but you will also gain a marketing advantage. Convince your staff, your audience and your clients to go down this path with you.

Avoid false promises and „greenwashing“ and be prepared for the great social challenge of the coming years.

Markus Wörl knows environmental commitment from practical experience. He was responsible for the programme of the Tollwood Festival in Munich, which has been dedicated to the topic of culture and the environment for more than 30 years. He is a trained climate protection manager and a member of various working groups on sustainability, including the EU's expert council on "Greening the Creative Europe Programme".

With his agency woerlpool, he advises the cultural sector on the topic of sustainability. www.woerlpool.com

    • Barcamp with Clair Howells and Mike Ribalta
    • What has changed?! Four years and one pandemic later, Clair Howells and Mike Ribalta take stock of the German scene in the international festival context. What has happened? What is the state of contemporary circus and theater in public space today? Where do we stand, where do we want to go, what can we learn from others?

An open round moderated by Clair Howells from the Bundesverband Theater im öffentlichen Raum and Mike Ribalta from Fira Tarrega, in which the scene itself can contribute its topics.
