The 16th International Street Theatre Festival, tête-à-tête, is set to take place in Rastatt, Germany from 29 May to 2 June 2024. Known as the largest international street theatre festival in the country, the event attracts artists from around the world to showcase their talent in public spaces. When does the tête-à-tête take place?

The tête-à-tête festival is organised every 2 years (always in even years) in the week after Whitsun around Corpus Christi. In 2024 it will take place from 29 May to 2 June.

What are the programme times?

Opening:
Wednesday, 29 May at 8 pm BadnerHalle

Daily programme:
Thursday, 30.5. from 2 p.m. City centre, castle garden and Murgpark
Friday, 31.5. from 3 pm City centre, Schlossgarten and Murgpark
Saturday 1.6. and Sunday 22.6. from 2 pm City centre, castle garden and Murgpark

Is the tête-à-tête free or is there an entrance fee?

Most shows are free and spontaneously accessible. There are also special events with limited seating that charge admission. Whatever you choose, it will be a special experience.

On the move in Rastatt

The venues are all close to each other, so leave your car at home and come to the festival by bus, train or bike. It's only 800 metres from the station to the Schlossgarten. Or take the RASTADTBUS line 239, which takes you close to many of the venues. The bus stop "Marktplatz" is cancelled during the festival.

... via the A5 motorway from Karlsruhe:

Exit A5 Rastatt-Nord in the direction of Rastatt - take the B3/B36 (Karlsruher Straße) in the direction of the city centre - drive through, the BadnerHalle is on the left-hand side.

... via the A5 motorway from Basel:

Take the A5 Rastatt-Süd exit onto the B3 (Badener Straße) - drive through to the junction with the B36 (Kehler Straße) - follow the road and cross the Murg - the BadnerHalle is on the right-hand side.

Are there any weather-related changes?

We are hoping for good festival weather, but due to weather or other circumstances, there may be changes to the times or locations of performances. Please note possible changes in the programme on our website, Instagram or Facebook.

Is the festival accessible?

Marked seats in the front rows of most shows are reserved for wheelchair users. Accessibility is marked in the programme with the wheelchair icon. We are happy to help if you need assistance!

Where can you find food and drink?

Enjoy tasty treats at the food stands on the market square, Paradeplatz, in the castle garden and in Murgpark. Support the local gastronomy or simply bring your own picnic basket.

Where are the public lavatories?
