"Springtime" is an over-the-top romantic comedy in the tradition of silent films. Its humor stems from the fact that the actors—a man and a woman—are severely limited in their movements because they are suspended from rusty industrial springs! Little by little, small, subtle scenes build into a hilarious visual spectacle in which the usual clichés about romance pile up into a tragicomic love story.
